October was an exciting time for the Art Department as the annual Art exhibition was held, organised by The Friends of Lawnswood and the Art Department staff. The Friends of Lawnswood spent many months preparing the pupils’ work for the exhibition and did an excellent job in arranging the exhibition space. For one week, all Teachers at Lawnswood were encouraged to take their classes down to see the exhibition and the hall was always full and buzzing with pupils looking at the art work. The exhibition was then open for a private show for one evening only, where students and parents were personally invited if their work was on display. Over the week and the evening, a voting system was held where visitors could vote for their favourite piece of artwork from each year group. Congratulations to all pupils whose work were displayed in the exhibition, and watch this space for the winners of the votes.
